Consultative Forum on Open Access

On 29-30 January 2015, NASAC together with the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and UNESCO organised a consultative forum on Open Access entitled "Towards high level interventions for research and development in Africa". The forum took place in Nairobi, Kenya.

Various European and South American experts and other open access stakeholders gathered for a two-day consultative forum at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi. The aim of the forum was to set the agenda for and create national action plans encouraging and exploring infrastructure-related actions that can be set up with multiple partners. The forum resulted in a report describing the meeting's objectives, the context for Open Access in Africa, as well as the global perspective and presented a suggestion for next steps.
