International Conference jointly organized by IAP, All European Academies (ALLEA) & the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters on "Developing IBSE: New Issues - The roles of assessment and the relationship with industry"

This international conference is supported by IAP, which represents over 100 National Science Academies, as part of its global Science Education Programme (SEP). The objective of the IAP SEP is the improvement of science education at pre-university levels in all countries and regions of the world; it has specifically opted for the promotion of the inquiry-based science education (IBSE) approach. IAP/SEP has 4 Regional Networks throughout the world, interacting with science Academies and their education programs. Follow the links below to the update programme and conference announcement.

Scientific Programme committee
The programme is being developed by a scientific committee of international experts in IBSE, students’ assessment and knowledge of industry, several being members of their country Academies of sciences. The members are: Dr Wynne Harlen Chair, Prof Patrik Scheinin (Finland), Prof Maija Aksela (Finland), Dr Derek Bell (UK), Dr Guillermo Fernandez de la Garza (Mexico), Dr Odile Macchi (France), Dr Patricia Rowell (Canada), Dr Wei Yu (China).
Venue: Faculty of Science in the University of Helsinki, Finland.

Participation is by invitation only, and will be be sent out by the organizing institutions and the IAP Regional Network Coordinators. There is no conference fee. The expected attendance is a maximum of 100 persons.

Outputs and Follow-up

The Conference report is currently being finalized and will be available shortly (October 2012).
