The National Academy of France was created in 1820. It is composed of 4 different sections: Medicine, Surgery, Biology and Pharmacy , Public Health.
The Academy has 135 titular members, 160 corresponding members, 180 foreign members. Its missions are to advise the government on health issues, to contribute to the progress of medical sciences, to promote French medicine, and to establish partnerships with foreign institutions in the field.
