The National Academy of Sciences of Burkina Faso (Academie Nationale des Sciences du Burkina - ANSB) was established in June 2013 with the aim of promoting socio-economic development through science, humanities, arts and culture.

The academy is located in Burkina Faso’s capital, Ouagadougou, and is composed of five colleges: science and technology; human sciences, arts, humanities and culture; legal, political, economic and management sciences; human and animal health sciences; and natural and agricultural sciences. Members of the ANSB are Burkina nationals, and its 30 founding members are tenured university professors, directors of research and senior lecturers and researchers.

The National Academy of Sciences of Burkina Faso has been a member of IAP – the global network of science academies since 2015.
