Formerly: with IBM Zurich Research Lab, Switzerland; University of Augsburg, Germany. Visiting Professor, National University of Singapore; 2007, guest scientist, CSIRO, Sydney, Australia. Programme leader, European research programmes. Member of the Board: Applied Superconductivity Conference, US; Young Academy Branch, Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences. Author of articles in Nature and Science. Recipient of awards, including: Central Education Prize (2007). Research interests: materials with unconventional electronic properties, superconductivity, nanotechnology, new technologies for energy harvesting such as artificial photosynthesis.
