DESCRIPTION OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE ACADEMY'S ACTIVITIES OR IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS:
Professor Laatikainen serves as Professor of Health Promotion at the University of Eastern Finland, where she is responsible for the bachelor’s and master’s degree training in health promotion. She is the Vice Chair of the Board of the Academy of Finland as well as the Vice Chair of the General Subcommittee of the Academy of Finland. Internationally, she has worked for several years as a consultant to the World Health Organization, particularly in health monitoring and the scientific evaluation of WHO programmes. She has also been a member of the WHO Technical Advisory Group on NCD-related Research and Innovation for the periods 2021–2023 and 2023–2025. Council of Finnish Academies has drawn on Tiina Laatikainen’s expertise in matters related to health sciences and health administration.
