DESCRIPTION OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE ACADEMY'S ACTIVITIES OR IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS:
Priscilla Kolibea Mante brings a background in science policy engagement, and community-driven outreach, with a sustained focus on inclusivity and global collaboration. As Co-Chair of the Global Young Academy from 2022-24, she led efforts to elevate the voices of early-career researchers in international policy spaces and co-created platforms that foster interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral science dialogue. She has spoken at the World Science Forum, the UN General Assembly Science Summit, the STS Forum, and Science Forum South Africa, addressing topics such as science for sustainable development, gender equity, and the inclusion of African voices in global science agendas.


Priscilla is an expert of the UN Secretary-General’s AI Advisory Body, UNESCO’s Global Advisory Committee for Women in Science, and Springer Nature’s Africa Advisory Council, contributing to global strategies on responsible innovation, equity, and ethical research. As Co-Chair of the African Researcher Career Development Workshop, she helps shape regional strategies to support research leadership and career advancement. At the national level, she coordinates Brain Bee Ghana, 2-Minute Thesis, SciFest Ghana, and founded WriteShop Ghana—initiatives that engage students, scientists, and the public in science communication. She also mentors girls in STEM through the Girls-In-ICT Programme and previously chaired the Ghana Young Academy. 
 


EVIDENCE OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES IN AN IAP, NATIONAL ACADEMY OR OTHER SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION'S GOVERNING BODY:
Priscilla Kolibea Mante was Co-Chair (LMIC) of the Global Young Academy from 2022-2024 and is a previous chair of the Ghana Young Academy. Her leadership extended to IAP, where she contributed as an ex-officio member of the Global Council for the Science Education Programme. She was the GYA representative on the World Science Forum Steering Committee from 2022-2024. Through these roles, she has significantly influenced global science policy and education, advocating for the integration of young scientists into decision-making processes that shape the scientific landscape. She also has extensive fundraising experience within and beyond the GYA, having earned among others the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Rising Talent Award, an OWSD Early Career Fellowship, as well as funding for research in Africa through USAID.
