DESCRIPTION OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE ACADEMY'S ACTIVITIES OR IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS:
Professor Negra is a highly engaged member of the Academy who lends assistance and advice to our policy programme of work and to our international activities. She is Chair of the Royal Irish Academy’s Working Group on Culture and Heritage and has served on the Interacademy Partnership Working Group on Predatory Journals and Conferences. In 2016 she was appointed by the US Ambassador to Ireland to the Irish Fulbright Commission Board. In 2019 she was elected Chair of the Commission.


EVIDENCE OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES IN AN IAP, NATIONAL ACADEMY OR OTHER SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION'S GOVERNING BODY:
Professor Negra is currently serving on the IAP Board and the Royal Irish Academy has benefitted greatly from this link with the IAP.
So far, she has served as Chair of the IAP Statements Committee and Co-Chair of the IAP Communication, Outreach and Education Committee.
We hope that Professor Negra will be chosen to continue on the Board as we believe she provides invaluable expertise to it.
