DESCRIPTION OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE ACADEMY'S ACTIVITIES OR IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS:
Prof. NING Guang is completing his first term as the Advisory Committee member in IAP (2023-2025). The CAE is proud to re-nominate him for the second term. His communication with IAP brings back the currents in scientific community and serves as an active and efficient channel with IAP. As an endocrinologist with over 30-year medical practice, Prof. NING serves as the President of Ruijin Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He was elected as a member of the CAE in 2015. Prof. NING dedicates his life career to clinical and basic research on endocrine and metabolic diseases and has discovered many findings in endocrine tumors and tumors. He is trained as a clinical doctor in China and in Baylor College of Medicine as a postdoctoral fellow.
Prof. NING has explored international cooperation on medicine and health for years, covering France, Belgium, Morocco, Finland, Denmark, Japan, Korea, Chile, Singapore, USA, UK, etc. to expand the academic network of the CAE. Since 2016 he has been advocating and hosting the bilateral exchange between the CAE and the French National Academy of Medical Science. He also led an international project focusing on the strategy on preventing and controlling diabetes in France, Belgium, China and Morocco. Prof. NING’s passion for global academic engagement empowers him to raise funding for pragmatic collaboration. He is a true international clinical leader.
EVIDENCE OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES IN AN IAP, NATIONAL ACADEMY OR OTHER SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION'S GOVERNING BODY:
- Member of the Advisory Committee in IAP (2023-2025). In this role, Prof. NING joined discussion on various topics and coordinates Chinese scholars to actively participate in IAP projects, e.g. urban health working group, world health summit, young physician leaders, etc.
- Hosting exchange platform between the Chinese Academy of Engineering and French National Academy of Medicine since 2016.
