Oyewale TOMORI was the President of the Nigerian Academy of Science (2013-2016) and currently serves as the President of the West Africa Network of National Academies of Science (WANNAS). He is a member of the IAP Communication, Education and Outreach Committee. Dr. Tomori has served and/ or continues to serve on numerous advisory committees, at national and global levels with Government of Nigeria, ECOWAS, WHO, GAVI, and UNICEF, on Lassa Fever, Polio, Covid19, Yellow Fever, Ebola, smallpox and mpox He received the 2022/23 World Academy of Sciences Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Partner (TWAS-SAREP) Science Diplomacy Award
