DESCRIPTION OF INVOLVEMENT IN THE ACADEMY'S ACTIVITIES OR IN INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS:

Prof Dr Yearul Kabir has been actively involved in the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) initiatives, contributing to advancing scientific research and policy advocacy in Bangladesh. He is the Associate Secretary of the BAS Council and the Editor of the Academy's journal. He always engages in participating scientific symposia, supporting research dissemination efforts, and collaborating with BAS Fellows on interdisciplinary projects.

As Associate Secretary, he is involved in all core activities of the Academy, including organizing international symposia, which are held almost annually. Additionally, as a BAS Technical Advisory Committee member, he contribute to the Academy's capacity-building initiatives on key scientific issues relevant to national development.

His involvement in international scientific affairs includes representing BAS at global conferences and workshops. Notably, he participated in the 2023 workshop on Institutionalizing Science Advice to Governments, organized by the National Academy of Sciences Sri Lanka (NASSL) in collaboration with the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA) and the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP), held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
