The scientist worked in the field of Science Education in France. Starting from primary school, "La main à la pâte" worked on improving young students' scientific education by promoting learning though practical experimentation instead of just theoretical readings. This approach to Science Education was then adopted by science academies in France and around the world, IAP included.
