NASAC, the Network of African Science Academies, has published a report on Open Access in Africa, entitled "Towards High Level Interventions for Research and Development in Africa". The report is based on the Consultative Forum on open access which had been held in Nairobi, Kenya, in January 2015.
Various European and South American experts and other open access stakeholders gathered for a two-day consultative forum in Nairobi. The aim of the forum was to set the agenda for and create national action plans encouraging and exploring infrastructure-related actions that can be set up with multiple partners. The forum resulted in a report describing the meeting's objectives, the context for Open Access in Africa, as well as the global perspective and presented a suggestion for next steps.
