Combatting Predatory Academic Journals and Conferences Working Group meetings in November and December 2020

The Working Group (WG) of the IAP project Combatting Predatory Academic Journals and Conferences met virtually in November and December 2020 to discuss evidence given by key stakeholders in the sectoral dialogue sessions, as well as the ongoing survey for global researchers, available in seven languages to encourage inclusion and diversity. They also reviewed progress on thematic working on definitions, gauging extent and impact, root causes and interventions.

In the New Year, the project will enter an evidence analysis phase, with a view to sharing the survey results and working with others on effective interventions to combat predatory practices. The Working Group will also begin shaping the final report, for publication by the end of the calendar year.
